Instagram Influencer Explained How Much Tough Is Going To Be A Model On Social Media

While most children used to dream of being a p-op star, footballer or astronaut when they grew up, many of today’s youngsters are setting their sights on becoming a YouTube star or an ‘influencer’.

But while many don’t give the profession much credit, some of the biggest stars have made a fortune and become huge celebrities from sharing their lives on social media.

Instagram model Jenny Mosienko, who bo*sts 1.4million followers, believes people should give her industry more credit and says she has a gru*ling working day.

She tells Mirror Online: “Lots of people assume that being an Instagram model is a piece of ca-ke, that we just take selfies in our bedrooms and postpaid ads, but there’s a lot more to it than that.”

No, I don’t do catwalks or editorial sh*ots, but I have to carefully cu*ate my own content, plan ahead, I work with brands to support their marketing and PR stra*egies, engage with my audience, attend international trips, work with fellow influencers from PINKK!SS and accept that I am in full control of my career.

“We’re not traditional models but the world has transformed and Instagram models enjoy equally complex, fulfilling careers in a medium that compliments this modern era – it’s definitely not easy.”Jenny has been an Instagram model for 10 years and makes her money through collaborations and photoshoots.

Describing her day-to-day, she says: “My days constantly change. I am very committed to my fitness though so I’ll usually wake up, enjoy breakfast, and do a workout.”If I’m at home I’ll then take some photos and create content, engage with my followers, and work on any current projects.”I love spending time with my friends and family too, it’s important to find balance.”

Over the years Jenny has been sent a number of ne*ative messages from strangers over the years pu-tting her down for what she does. She explains: “People assume that because we open ourselves up to the world online we’re not af*ected by tro*ling – this isn’t true, we’re only human.

“A lot of the time these comments are from men, they tend to leave se*ist remarks on my posts and think that because I’m wearing a b!kini that’s justif!able.”This is something I, of course, want to change but on a day to day basis I try to not let it af*ect me – tro*ls are pers!stent but positivity will always outshine ne*ative comments.”Some people think that we’re all sha*low. The ste*otype surrounding Instagram models often paint us as d*mb and completely image-focused.

“As a model, I of course take pride in my appearance but I’m also a businesswoman and Instagram is a mere screenshot of my life – there’s a lot more to me than my life as a model.”But she explains that the people who really matter, including her family and friends, have been a huge support.

She said: “My friends and family are completely supportive. They’ve seen how much happiness it brings me, that I can earn a living through Instagram/influencing, and ultimately there’s no ha*m in it.”They think I’m lucky to be able to enjoy such a unique career.”

Jenny also says that people rarely understand what it takes to be an Instagram model, including hours of hard work before the scenes. She said: “People also assume that I work for less than an hour a day, that I snap a couple of photos and then I’m done – this couldn’t be further from the truth.”Being an Instagram model is a full-time job.”Sho-ots are long, planning takes time, collaborations need organizing – it’s not something you can just bre-eze into, it takes lots of hard work and commitment.”

But while it’s hard work, Jenny said there are lots of benefits to the job – and she loves every minute. She said: “I love the independence that being an Instagram model provides – I choose the photos I post, who I work with, and when I work. “It also allows me to travel the world with like-minded, talented, creative people.”As an ambassador for PINKK!SS for example I travel to countries like Jamaica for sh*ots and networking events – yes, we network too!”Life as an Instagram model is hard work, undoubtedly, but it pays off in terms of the incredible people that you get to meet and it allows you to earn a substantial salary – there’s lots of money in this industry, you just have to gra-ft.”I’ve been an Instagram model for about 10 years, most of my working life.”Before that, I’d da*bled in other industries but had never found something that I absolutely loved.”Being an Instagram model and influencer allows me to explore my interests in fitness, photography, and fashion, a combination that I don’t think I’d find anywhere else. “
